I started tearing down the SSXL today. I took all the fairings off, the tank off, the seat off, the foot rest off, the engine off, and started investigating. 

The engine was rust seized but I managed to press the piston out of the cylinder. The cylinder still looks great, maybe a hone and some new rings? It will need a new piston and rings but I might be able to salvage the cylinder. The crank is a needle bearing crank and it spins great. Everything else is super clean. I hope to get this back together after I clean it up and ride it around.
